American depository receipts of Asian stocks were down 0.4% to 132.49 in U.S. trading on Thursday, according to the BNY Mellon Asia ADR Index.

In north Asia, Chinese online game developer The9 (NCTY) led decliners falling 4.2%, followed by casino operator Melco Crown Entertainment (MPEL) and Chinese mobile phone maker China Techfaith Wireless Communication (CNTF), both sliding 3.8%.

In southern Asia, Indian pay TV provider Videocon d2h (VDTH) led losses with a 3.2% drop, followed by IT and communications firm SIFY (SIFY) down 1.7% and Indian bank ICICI Bank (IBN) sliding 1.2%.

Gainers in north Asia were led by ATA (ATAI) up 3.9%, followed by China Southern Airlines (ZNH) up 3.6% and Hong Kong Television Network (HKTV) climbing 3.4%.

In southern Asia, Indian news and entertainment website India (REDF) led gainers with a 8% gain, followed by Indian carmaker Tata Motors (TTM) up 4.3%, and diversified mining company Vedanta (VEDL) up 1.2%.
