As technology takes away the stress in many areas of our lives, the world of transportation has also experienced a continuous development that could be track yearly. Cars are starting to have the most unimaginable features. Who would think a car would have a screen that shows anything you want to see in the last twenty years? How can a car be connected to the internet, or even be able to assist the driver in driving? All these were just dreams many years ago, but we are now living those dreams. However, we haven’t stopped dreaming. There are many new features you will soon begin to see in the latest cars that didn’t exist before. You may have seen them in some science fiction movie, but car producing industries are already implementing these features. Some of these features include;
The Autonomous Technology
Cars already respond to some commands and drive themselves around, sometimes they can stop the car without you matching the brake pedal, but in the nearest future, cars will learn of routes and have sensors all over them that will give them the proper knowledge needed to make the final decision to your safety and the car’s safety. This feature gives cars the ability to override the driving of the car and drive themselves at a simple command (which we are already experiencing on a low scale) or an information picked up from the sensors, navigate without human interference, stop the car when it may hit a person or another car, etc., relieving humans of the stress of driving and also keeping them safe.
Biometrics Access Technology
Just like the latest smartphone technology of unlocking your smartphone with your fingerprint, cars will soon have the fingerprint restriction; both for unlocking and starting. As we have already experienced the change from key to remote in access, and key to button in ignition, the security and personalization of cars will soon graduate to using biometrics. It may even go as far as retina recognition, but that may be a little difficult for unlocking the car because the eye won’t be so low for easy scanning, so fingerprint is more likely to be it.
Remote Vehicle Shutdown
A neighborhood with a lot of stolen car cases will be particularly grateful for this feature because despite the fact that your car has been stolen, you can shut it down from anywhere and possibly lock the thief up inside the car. The feature of car shutdown has actually been incorporated by OnStar and they have closed a couple of stolen car cases with a happy ending, but most car owners and drivers are not aware of these features or how to use it. However, in coming years, this feature will become very common in cars and the general public will be aware of how to use it.
Most of the developments in cars, as in technology generally, is aimed at making life easier and safer. The cars entering the showroom now and that will soon be showcased will have many features that has only been fantasies in Sci-Fi movies.
