The famous rapper, Future, began his music career in the early months of 2011. He worked continuously for about three years before the world came to hear him. Future had his big break in 2014, and has been a huge name in the industry ever since.
One unique thing about future is his music style. Yes, he is a rap artist, like many others out there, but something about future’s style of rap is different. This new sound has become so popular, that many other artists, both new and old, are beginning to adopt this style.
Future did not intend to make his style a new genre of rap music. He was just doing his thing and people began to love the emotional, but also care free style of his lyrics, and the low voice which accompanied them. It became a trend among music lovers, and eventually found its way into the hearts and styles of music makers around the world.
It is quite unusual for anyone to believe that music that talks about addiction and excessive love for things like sex, drugs and other substances, would become one of the most appreciated styles in the industry. Unapologetically, people began to profess their love for his music, and the things he talks about in it.
Soon enough, Future’s music got the attention of made rappers like Timmy Turner, Desiigner, 21 Savage and some others. Future was aware of this and it did not look like he really liked the situation, when he commented about copycats being a fade of the “real plug”, which is himself. None of the rappers gave him credit for copying his style.
Although when he made the statement about being the real plug, and copycats fading away very soon, he was not talking about any rapper in particular. This must have been to avoid a direct feud, as many modern rappers do not like to be tagged as copycats. However, the message was still delivered to those who were supposed to get it. He pioneered the style, and he deserves to be given credit for it.
Unfortunately for Future, many of the ‘copycats’ have released hit songs that made a lot of waves, and even ranked higher than his songs, on charts like the Billboard Top 100. This might be enough to make him mad, but he did not call anyone out and continues to make music in his unique style. All things suggest that he is current working on a huge project.
