Against popular belief, the entertainment industry is not a fun and play industry. It may seem like a lot of chilling and enjoyment when you are watching from the comfort of your home (it is entertainment right?). The people who we see in the industry, especially the film industry, put in a lot of work to be where they are (individually) and to give the best quality of entertainment (collectively). The actors do not become popular immediately they decide to become actors. If this was the case, more than half of the earth will be famous actors. Lots of talented people are still trying out for minor roles in different movie auditions and they are getting rejected. Many of them will continue to try it for many years until they get in or not. Many will get in, but would still not get the stardom. This article contains a list of actors that had started their careers at a very tender age.
You may be wondering that Ben Affleck is a grown actor that starred in “Argo” and “The Town” and you can’t really remember him being younger, but the superstar started when he was just a little boy. He was on the educational TV series “The Voyage of the Mimi.” This PBS show ran a season in the year; 1984, and followed a professional crew on an educative adventure to explore humpback whales in the ocean. Affleck who starred in the first season starred in the second one; “The Second Voyage of the Mimi” which went with the same crew as in the first season on another mission in 1988.
This actor who has been nominated to win an Oscar award had started her career since she was only seven (7) years old. She had landed roles in the famous TV series “Screen One” (in which Alfred Molina was also starred), and “The Bill.” Before Knightley starred in “The Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Pride & Prejudice” franchise, she had also featured in a few made-for-TV movies while she was still very young including “A Village Affair.”
Both of the movies; “Pitch Perfect” and “Up in the Air”, will pass as one of the youngest Tony nominees ever. Anna Kendrick had landed a nomination for her performance on Broadway in “High Society” in the year 1998 when she was just 12 years old. While she was still a teenager, she continued to act in “Camp”
The highly recognized “Arrested Development” star, Jason Bateman also started his acting career when he was quite young. In 1981, he played James Cooper in the movie: “Little House on the Prairie”, which was actually his first acting role when he was a teenager. In 1982, Bateman also played Derek Taylor on the then ‘new’ TV show: “Silver Spoons”. His career was definitely filled with many different and continuous roles, but he is currently well known for his roles in: “Horrible Bosses”, “The Change-Up,” and “Bad Words”.
The entertainment industry takes a lot of work to get into and to become relevant in. These actors had put in a lot to make sure they became relevant and so they started quite early.
