In 2011, the Tolberts were a picturesque family of three, made up of two loving parents, Nia and Robert, and a beautiful son, Shai. But that didn’t mean there wasn’t more in store for them—a whole lot more! The pregnancies that were going to come into the Tolbert’s lives would not only shock experts around the world, but would even make national news. Read on to watch this incredible family story unfold into one of the most shocking pregnancy sagas the world has ever seen.
No one knows exactly what’s to come when they first get pregnant with a little one, but the Tolberts were in for much more than most, when it came to their pregnancies. You may be scratching your head right now, but you’ll be glad you continued the story when you reach the end of this amazing family’s journey through one of life’s most precious events.
Nia and Robert
We can all attest that not all set-ups end well, but when mutual friends introduced Nia and Robert in 2007, it was love at first sight. After going on date after date, the couple’s relationship became official. Their commitment to one another grew stronger each day, and their romance soon reached fairytale-level heights.
The years went by and the relationship continued to strengthen, their bond to one another seemingly unbreakable, with no major obstacles in sight. Of course, the happy couple experienced the occasional bump in the road, but nothing that they couldn’t overcome and emerge stronger from. Their love was unbreakable—just the foundation they needed to weather the exciting but turbulent news in store.
An Amazing Addition
You might have guessed it already. Yes, Nia was pregnant for the first time. Though this meant their lives were going to change, the couple was ready and elated by the idea of their new little addition. Their family of two based in Waldorf, Maryland would soon grow into a family of three. Many people feel anxious when they first get pregnant, but the Tolberts knew they wanted to have children together, and felt prepared to take their relationship to the next level.
In 2011 Nia gave birth to a baby boy. He was a beautiful bundle of joy they decided to name Shai. A smooth pregnancy, a healthy baby with ten fingers and ten toes—what more could the couple ask for? Well, the Tolberts would soon learn that sometimes you get a whole lot more than you ask for. Shai wouldn’t be the only addition to the Tolbert family in the coming years.
Tying the Knot
Three years later Nia and Robert decided to legally solidify their relationship and get married. In 2014, the couple shared a beautiful wedding ceremony. Though the Tolberts were already a family before the marriage, they knew tying the knot would be a great way to publicly broadcast their love to the world. But that wouldn’t be the only thing shared with the world!
Little did they know, the Tolbert’s family of three was already expanding at the moment of their marriage. That’s right, another family member was on the way. Nia was pregnant for the second time, and the Tolberts could not have been more happy. They excitedly pondered whether or not their new addition would be a boy or a girl, but they didn’t realize they should have been pondering something else all together, when it came to this pregnancy.
A Second Pregnancy
The months went by, Nia’s belly continued to grow, and the Tolbert family’s anticipation grew more and more as they waited to find out whether the baby would be a boy or girl. Finally, the day came for Nia’s visit to the doctor’s office, where she would discover the gender of her new baby. But when the sonogram technician presented the results, Nia received news she hadn’t bargained for.
The Tolberts received some exciting news that day. Not only were they to be expecting one baby, but they were going to have twins! Many couples would have been overwhelmed to learn this information, but Nia and Robert had a strong and loving family foundation, and couldn’t have been more excited for this bonus addition to their lives. Shai was extra excited as well, because he would be getting two new baby brothers. That’s right, the couple was expecting twin boys.
Once again, Nia had a healthy pregnancy and birth. In 2015, The Tolberts welcomed a healthy set of identical baby boys into their lives. The couple decided to name the beautiful new twins Riley and Alexander. In the span of a day, their happy family of three had become a family of five—that’s quite a big day! Satisfied with their beautiful family, Nia and Robert agreed that three children were plenty to keep their hands full. They would not be adding any new members to the family.
As one might imagine, the household became triple the fun, triple the messiness, and triple the amount of work, with three little boys running amok. Not that Nia and Robert couldn’t handle it. Their teamwork and loving approach to life helped keep their children on the right path, and the two were able to maintain a sense of order and sanity, even in the somewhat chaotic condition of their home.
That being said, the Tolbert’s family of five was more than enough to constitute a full house and a full amount of work. Anyone who’s had to take care of one child at a time can only imagine the amount of energy it takes to care for three—especially when twins are in the mix! Nia and Robert were still happy with their decision to stop having children after the twins were born, and felt more than fulfilled with their beautiful family of five.
The couple worked out a schedule and complemented one another’s parenting styles perfectly. Though raising the three boys was difficult, they were able to give each child an equal amount of love and affection, so that each boy grew to be stronger and healthier with each coming day. They had a routine, despite the struggles of child rearing, and Nia and Robert thought their three-child juggling act was all they had to worry about for a while. Little did they know, life had more on the way for them.
In 2017, two years after the twins were born, Nia received news that she was pregnant once again. The pregnancy was a surprise for Nia and Robert, but they took the fact as a blessing, and accepted that a fourth baby was in God’s plan for them. Though they had decided to stop having children, they would welcome the new child into their lives with as much love and care as they had the previous three.
The surprise news set in quickly, and soon the family was excitedly anticipating the new baby. Again, they wondered what the baby’s gender would be. Nia and Robert hoped for a little girl, while the three boys wanted another brother in the mix. Whatever the baby turned out to be, one thing was clear—the Tolberts would love their new family member with all their hearts.
Though this wasn’t her first rodeo, Nia felt different during this pregnancy. Compared to the first two go-arounds, Nia felt slightly off. Not only was something different physically, but emotionally, things weren’t quite the same either. Knowing that no two pregnancies are exactly alike, rather than worry about these differences, Nia hoped they meant she was going to have a girl. It would be nice to have another girl in the family with three little boys already running around, she thought. But what she hoped for would not turn out to be true.
As if life wasn’t hectic enough, Nia’s emotions were more volatile during this pregnancy, her hormones were out of whack and she no longer felt like her normal, day-to-day self. She felt like a hormonal teenager again, the littlest things sending her into a fit. Not only that, but her body was expanding at a rapid rate compared to the first two pregnancies, which added to her overall stress levels and sense that something was amiss.
Nothing Nia was doing had changed from her previous pregnancies—she was going to yoga, eating healthy foods, and taking her prenatal vitamins. So why did she feel so different? A trip to the doctor and her first sonogram would surely help ease her confusion. Things were about to become a heck of a lot clearer for Nia.
Awaiting her first sonogram appointment, Nia was eager to gain some insight into why she had been feeling so different, but she was a little bit nervous, too. She knew her body, and she knew something was off, but she had no way of knowing what that something was. She would need the help of the doctor to figure it out.
The First Sonogram
As stated before, the new pregnancy was already a surprise to the Tolberts, “Robert and I have always joked about having a large family, but we did not plan to have any more pregnancies after the twins. But we were in for a surprise,” Nia said. Little did she know at the time, but she and Robert were in for even more of a surprise.
As Nia sat in the doctor’s waiting room, she couldn’t help but feel nervous. She had to mentally prepare herself for the news the ultrasound would bring, and prayed to God that the news would be good. She pushed any anxious feelings regarding the baby’s health out of her mind and told herself that everything was going to be alright. All she could do was wait, as the matter was out of her hands at this point.
As Nia moved into the ultrasound room, she heard the technician ask a familiar question, “Do multiples run in your family?” When Nia had been expecting the twins during her last pregnancy, the technician had asked the exact question she was hearing now. Naturally, she concluded that she was expecting twins again.
The ultrasound technician confirmed Nia’s inkling, and let her know that she would indeed be having another set of twins. Of course, this news came with a jolt. Nia knew how much work went into having one baby, let alone two. However, Nia’s faith that God had a plan for her kept her stabilized, and she accepted the fact that she would be having another set of twins with grace and tranquility.
A Double Check
Needing a moment to herself, Nia got up to go to the bathroom. When she returned, the technician told her that she would need to do a second ultrasound in order to confirm the results. Not wanting to be anything but absolutely sure when it came to her pregnancy, Nia agreed to let the technician do a second check. It’s good thing they did that extra check, too.
The technician had an inkling that there was more to be found from Nia’s ultrasound, and she was right.
After doing an extensive and careful second go-around, the technician informed Nia that she would not be having two babies, but rather, she was carrying three! Nia said that upon hearing the news, “everything kind of spiraled out of control.” Who could blame her? Imagine first having to accept that you were carrying two babies instead of one, and just minutes later, learning that you were actually carrying three!
Nia knew the responsibilities that came with twins, but she had no idea how much more difficult three babies would be. Thoughts both good and bad spiraled through her head. She wondered how the family could handle three more babies at once, it didn’t help that her emotions were heightened right now, either. But Nia drew strength from the success she and Robert had already shared with their wonderful family, and knew that with enough love, the Tolberts could handle anything life threw their way.
Nia quickly got in contact with the doctor who had delivered her twin boys, Dr. Rami Tabbarah, as they had been through the ordeal of delivering multiple babies at once before. Upon the news of her triplets, Dr. Tabbarah said that Nia’s pregnancy pattern—first getting pregnant with one baby, then twins, then triplets—was “extremely rare.”
The odds of having multiples are rare enough, but naturally conceiving multiples twice in a row is almost unheard of: “We’re talking less than one in 1,000 [births]. That’s a very low chance for it happening to anyone in general. It’s very rare to have twins then triplets in the same lifetime,” says Dr. Tabbarah.
Going back to the question the ultrasound technician asked Nia about her family’s history with multiple births, the answer is yes, both she and Robert have family histories with multiples. As you might imagine, this means genetically, the probability of Nia having multiples is higher than someone who does not have a family history of twins and triplets. That being said though, the probability of one woman having two separate births with multiples is highly unlikely and unique, for any individual.
There are other factors that can contribute to the probability of having multi-birth pregnancies, including, but not limited to: weighing above average, being taller than average, using fertility treatments to get pregnant, and conceiving while still breastfeeding. No matter the factors involved in Nia’s pregnancy, one thing was without question—she had to break the news to Robert! Sharing the news of a single birth pregnancy with a partner is nerve-wracking enough, imagine having to break the news that the two of you were actually expecting three babies at once.
Devising a Plan
As Nia began to accept the truth of carrying triplets, she pondered exactly how she was going to tell Robert. There were so many thoughts and possibilities swimming through her head upon receiving the news, and she was eager to share the information with her life partner so that they could process it together. She was planning on leaving Maryland for a weekend trip to Florida. She decided the most exciting way to share the news with Robert would be to leave him a surprise gift to open while she was away.
That gift was a copy of her sonogram from the doctor’s appointment. As you might imagine, this was no ordinary sonogram, because it included three babies, not one. Each image was marked A, B, and C, so that Robert would understand what he was looking at. Nia also left three onesies, and a note, “Please accept this gift from me and God,” she wrote to Robert.
Upon receiving Nia’s surprise gift, Robert said, “I opened the bag and I saw a very, very long sonogram. Then I saw three onesies in the bag and they were numbered 1, 2, and 3.” The wheels quickly turned in Robert’s head as he took in the information. Just as it had been shocking news for Nia at first, when she was in the doctor’s office, the news had quite a dizzying effect on Robert. So dizzying in fact that he fainted!
When Robert came to, he said, “I was just shocked. I went straight to bed.” From Florida, Nia had no idea what her husband was going through, let alone that he had fainted upon opening her “surprise.” His reaction is understandable of course, but it must have been difficult to process on his own. Nia wondered how long she’d have to wait before hearing from her husband, but she knew their love was strong, and though it might be shocking at first, they would accept this precious gift of life in stride.
When Robert emerged from bed, he was overcome with the truth of the matter: there were going to be three more babies in the Tolbert household. His wife was carrying triplets. He brushed the sleep off his face and immediately called Nia, knowing that she was probably anxious to hear from him. He congratulated her and let her know that he was accepting this gift from her and God, as she had written in the note she left. He made sure not to voice his fears to her, knowing that any anxiety he was having now would soon pass, as he accepted the exciting news of his three new babies.
Robert admitted that he had no idea what Nia’s surprise gift was going to be. He’d told her earlier that he was thinking about getting a FitBit, and laughed at the thought of first seeing the gift, because he thought it was going to be one. The announcement of triplets certainly wasn’t what Robert saw coming. Any money that would’ve gone towards a FitBit would have to go towards extra diapers now!
Nia laughed as she recalled the first conversation she had with Robert after he opened the gift, “I arrived in Tampa later that day for a girl’s trip, I was finally able to get in touch with him and he shared that he was happy, but he’d fainted!” She made sure Robert was alright, and he reassured her that although he had an extreme reaction at first, he was thankful and happy to hear the news.
He immediately began to prepare the house and nursery—triple the babies meant triple the work to be done! They would have to prepare three cribs, three high chairs, countless bottles and diapers, not to mention all the clothes the babies would be going through.
Though they had already been through quite the surprise with this pregnancy, Nia and Robert decided they wanted to wait to hear the genders of their triplets. In order to celebrate the exciting news with their friends and family, the couple decided to host a gender reveal party. At the party, they would pop three confetti filled balloons. The color of the confetti would indicate which gender each baby was. They had Nia’s doctor seal the genders in an envelope, which they gave to a close friend, who then filled the balloons with the appropriate colored confetti.
The day for the party finally arrived. You could feel the anticipation of each guest, and especially of Nia and Robert, as they waited for the moment when each balloon would be popped. The first balloon popped to reveal a girl. The second? A girl. And the third? A girl, again!
Nia and Robert were elated by the news. Though they never planned on having six children in the house, having three girls and three boys felt right to them. They hoped it would bring balance and harmony to the rambunctious boy filled house they currently operated.
As you might imagine, the boys were a little bit sad that they wouldn’t have three more little brothers. They had imagined three little brothers to rough house with and play Ninja Turtles and superheroes with, but having sisters didn’t mean they wouldn’t still have new siblings to have fun with! Eventually, the boys realized it would still be a lot of fun to have three little sisters, and began to get excited with Nia and Robert, as the due date grew nearer and nearer.
“We are both excited about this new experience of parenting girls,” Nia explained. “Rob is enthused about having his own entourage, as the boys stick to me like glue!
I’m curious...How will it change the dynamic of our household? Will it be like it is in the movies? Who’s going to comb all that hair? It’s going to be eventful, we know it. But we’re leaning on God and Pinterest until we find our flow!”
Due Date Approaching
The triplets were due on February 9th, but with any baby, and especially with triplets, a due date was much more of an estimation than something you could actually count on. As she had anticipated, a few weeks before the due date, Nia began to have contractions. She knew this was normal from talking to her doctor and continued on as usual. However, the contractions continued to grow with each passing day.
By the time they were five minutes apart, Nia decided to call in for reinforcements. She called her mom and told her to go to the hospital. This wasn’t Nia’s first pregnancy, and she thought she’d go to the hospital and get sent home. This is what had happened with all of her previous pregnancies, and so she anticipated it would happen this time as well.
A Trip To The Hospital
As Nia and Robert sat at the hospital waiting for the doctor to send her home again, one of the doctors emerged. “You’re going to have the babies today,” the doctor told her. Nia could not believe her ears. She hadn’t mentally prepared for this moment yet, the moment when she would deliver three babies, and she began to get a little bit frantic. She anxiously asked if her doctor was around. She didn’t want to deliver the babies without him.
Nia’s doctor was indeed at the hospital and he quickly prepared himself for her delivery. As if on cue, the second Dr. Tabbarah entered Nia’s room, her water broke. It was game time. The triplets were on their way into the world and everyone could not have been more excited to meet them. Having three babies didn’t come without risks, and Robert braced himself for the night ahead. He prayed for the health of his wife and three baby girls, and told himself that everything was going to work out perfectly.
Due to the risks involved with a triplet pregnancy, Nia ended up having all three babies through cesarean section, on January 30th, 2018. There were thirty fingers and thirty toes and a very happy, healthy mother. After the birthing process was over and Nia was in recovery, she couldn’t help but feel relieved to finally have her body back. “I finally feel alone,” she told the doctor. That must have been a very overwhelming feeling, to go from housing three babies in her body to having them all gone at once.
As Nia held 1, 2, and 3 for the first time, she beamed with love. She couldn’t believe how tiny and cute the three of them were. She had been pregnant for 34 weeks and five days, and now she finally got to meet the triplets! Robert and Nia had been waiting to meet their little girls for what felt like forever, and it was an amazing, indescribable feeling to finally get to hold them in their arms.
The babies weighed between 4 and 4.6 pounds each, all roughly the same weight. Although they were born early, they were in great health. As can occur with triplets, two babies were identical and the third was fraternal. Now that the initial hard part of bringing the three beautiful baby girls into the world safely was over, Nia and Robert had to figure out what to name them!
They named the identical babies Zuri and Bailey, and the fraternal baby Mackenzie. The little girls didn’t know it yet, but they were soon going to be getting quite a lot of media attention. Nia began getting called the 1-2-3 mom, because she had had one baby first, then twins, then triplets. She didn’t mind the new name, it made her feel like she was being recognized for the huge accomplishment of birthing six healthy babies into the world.
Day by Day
When asked what was next on her agenda, Nia replied, “There is no real plan. We have no idea how it’s going to go.” Nia and Robert knew they would just have to take everything day by day, and trust that everything was going to work out. Nothing about their lives had been planned thus far and they were still doing pretty well for themselves. They knew that with enough trust and love, they would get through anything else that was coming their way.
Robert brought everything back to the couple’s faith, “God chose us. We didn’t know this would be our life, but we’re embracing it wholeheartedly, and we’re going to do the necessary things to make sure our kids are equally loved.” That attitude got them this far in their lives, and it would continue to propel them forward as they took on the immense task of raising six kids on their own.
It Takes a Village
Not that Nia and Robert were actually on their own. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and in Nia and Robert’s case, that isn’t far from the truth. They relied on community and the help of their friends, family, and neighbors to help them through the hard work of raising six children. The couple explained that they could not have gotten to where they were now without that help, and they knew they would still need lots of help moving forward.
“We’re not too concerned,” Nia says, though, “I Know we’re not going to sleep for a couple years, our grocery bill is going to go up, and our house is not going to be quiet, and that’s okay.” Many of us know how much it takes to care for one child, once you factor six children into the mix, it’s almost unimaginable.
The Tolberts need help and they’re lucky to receive it. They know how lucky they are, too. Every little thing a friend or family member does for them, from running a few errands to changing a diaper here or there, the Tolberts are thankful for. Knowing how powerful community outreach can be, the Tolberts decided to open a crowdfunding campaign on Fundly to help raise money for a new car, which they are in dire need of.
It’s easy to understand why the Tolberts need a new vehicle. Not many cars can fit eight people in them at once! They never expected to have triplets after all, and their current car simply can’t fit everyone. Not to mention how much space three car seats take up. Though this is a current issue, it’s not enough to keep the Tolbert family down. They are resourceful and find various ways to manage their day to day lives. No matter the material goods, they are just excited to have a happy, beautiful family.
Something that isn’t so easy to understand is how many people are already wondering if Nia is going to have more children, barely a year after the triplets were born! Of course, she does have an amazing story and has already broken a few records due to the rarity of her birth pattern, but we’re sure the last thing on her mind is more babies. People are wondering if upon getting pregnant, Nia would continue to have multiples, they even joke about 1-2-3-4.
Joke or no joke, the world may never find out whether or not Nia would continue to have multiples. When asked about having more children or being open to the potential, Nia answered, “Absolutely not. I am confident we are not having any more children.” The Tolberts are happy with the family they have at the current moment, and aren’t ready to think about adding anyone new into the mix. But to keep everyone’s curiosity at bay, the Tolberts have come up with lots of fun and exciting ways to keep their friends, family, and the world updated on their day to day activities and the well-being of their wonderful children.
In case you were thinking of donating, the Fundly page the Tolberts created is called “Totally Tolbert,” which is a branded name Nia and Robert decided to create for their amazing family. You can read a summary of their love story, in Nia and Robert’s own words, on the Fundly page, as well as a story about how they came up with the page in the first place. Their goal of $40,000 for a larger car has been met, but they have other funds running in order to cover gas and formula costs for the triplets.
Hopefully, all of the Tolbert’s goals will be met, as they are a very deserving and hardworking family. As if Nia isn’t busy enough, she’s involved in plenty of activities and ways to make money to provide for her wonderful family. She’s definitely a super woman with all the things she manages to do on a daily basis in order to make her family’s lives better.
Fit & Fab
Like any pregnancy, the immense task of delivering twins and triplets created quite a few changes in Nia’s body. However, she works hard to keep herself in shape and healthy. She is passionate about healthcare, and knows how hard it can be for mothers to stay fit. That’s why she became a private yoga instructor and wellness coach. Nia even started her own brand, called MOTHERLOVINGYOGA?, in May of 2017.
The brand Nia started has a mission to advance the practice of yoga both in the studio and out in the world, for people of every age group. Nia has a firm belief that yoga has the potential and power to bring strength and confidence to people, no matter where they come from.
The Power of Sharing
Nia uses her brand MOTHERLOVINGYOGA? as a platform to inspire and motivate others to stay healthy and in shape, both physically and mentally, through yoga, movement, and meditation. In order to further this encouragement, Nia shares her own anecdotes regarding her journey through yoga, motherhood, and giving birth, as a way to reach out and inspire people who need it the most.
Nia tries to be as candid as possible through her social media outreach, as it helps her deal with day-to-day stress. In one Facebook post she wrote, “Everyday has its stream of ‘wtf, leave mommy alone,’ ‘I can’t do this anymore,’ ‘why would you do that?!’ and a few shed tears. But I seem to keep making it to the next day and through the next adventure.” With little time to catch her breath or take a moment for herself, Nia uses social media to help debrief and process what life is like. It can be nice to take a step back and share what’s going on with friends and family, even if that means having to do it through the computer.
Keeping it Herbal
When Nia isn’t promoting her brand or taking care of her half-dozen children, she works for Herbalife Nutrition, an international wellness brand. Nia is a wellness and empowerment coach, which means she helps others on their journey toward living more healthy, nutritious lifestyles. She uses her passion for wellness, and combines it with Herbalife Nutrition health food products, in order to reach people around the world who are interested in leading active and healthy lives, both inside and out.
Nia wouldn’t work for a brand she didn’t believe in. Herbalife has a mission that aligns with the way Nia chooses to live her life, and so she agreed to be a spokesperson for their company. Working with Herbalife allows her to reach a broader audience of people who share her passion for healthy living and active lifestyles, the old fashioned way. Herbalife makes products such as vitamins, supplements, and nutritional shakes. They even work with doctors and scientists to ensure the highest quality of products.
In addition to working for Nutralife, Nia and Robert have created Facebook and Instagram pages to showcase their day-to-day family lives. They used their trademarked Totally Tolbert brand for both the pages. Normally, they wouldn’t think of sharing their everyday lives with the world, as it isn’t too exciting for the two of them, not to mention they have enough to juggle without updating the world on their daily activities, but the public asked Nia and Robert to create the pages, as many people are curious about what the Tolberts are up to.
Nia’s 1-2-3 story captivated so many people that couldn’t stop wondering what Tolbert life was like after the media attention they were getting began to die down. Hundreds of people were asking for pictures of the triplets and the three boys. They wanted to see videos and hear stories so they could feel like they were experiencing the Tolbert’s remarkable life alongside them. Nia and Robert decided they would give the public what they wanted, and began regularly posting updates on the Totally Tolbert Instagram and Facebook pages.
Bros and Bows
Their Instagram caption reads: “Singleton, Twins, Triplets! Building Legacy, Sharing Light, Follow Our Adventures!!” The Tolberts are also open to email suggestions, compliments, and special requests.
If you happen to be interested, you can browse through pictures of oldest, Shai, the twins, Riley and Alexander, and of course, the beautiful triplets, Mackenzie, Zuri, and Bailey. The Tolberts have no shortage of precious moments and adorable snapshots to share with the world. It’s obvious that Robert and Nia give their children a wonderful life with lots of love and attention, and it’s great to be able to share some of those special moments with them.
The Little Milestones
For example, Nia added a picture of three pairs of pink moccasin shoes with black and white stripes to celebrate the triplets’ first eight weeks. She wrote beneath the photo, “The cuteness strikes again. Happy 8 weeks, baby dolls.” Find this and many more adorable moments on the Totally Tolbert Instagram.
The Tolberts certainly have a lot of fans, with around 4k following them at the moment. As you can imagine, each post gets countless likes and comments. A recent post for the triplet’s 9 month mark got tons of comments, regarding how adorable the girls are.
The Tolbert Boys
As Nia and Robert anticipated, life did change quite a bit after the triplets were born. The boys loved to cling to Nia, but once the triplets were born, most of mom’s attention was needed elsewhere. Now the boys enjoy more quality time with their dad. They like having adventures as the pack of four boys in the Tolbert family, and enjoy having lots of fun and making a little bit of mischief along the way.
In a picture that Nia posted online, she captioned: “The Tolbert boys!!!!! One half of the crew taking a break from the girls! Xander with the mischief, Riley with the attitude, Shai with the cuteness, and Rob with the Dad Swag.” Clearly, this is a family that loves each other and has lots of quality time to spend together.
A Cute Photo Shoot
Nia also uses the account to help track the growth of the triplets. It’s hard to notice how much they change when you see them everyday, so it helps that Nia has a photo-shoot every few weeks to help document just how much the little wonders are growing. She posted one at 12 weeks, that showed each girl in a onesie. The onesies read: “I’m adorable; Mom’s beautiful; Daddy did good.” How precious is that?! We’re so glad Nia took up this photo-shoot habit so we can see the little ones and the amazing moments that are captured of them.
Everyone loves the photo-shoots, and friends, family, and strangers leave streams of supportive comments for the family to read. The kids look like a perfect combination of Nia and Robert, and you can see in their smiling faces how much love they receive each day.
Like all of us, the Tolberts don’t know exactly what life has in store for them next, but they certainly are busy in the meantime! They are grateful for their six wonderful children, even though they never could’ve guessed they would be in their lives a few years ago, they couldn’t imagine what their family would be like without all the kids.
They chose to see the pregnancies as gifts from God, and maintained close relationships with one another and their faith. They do their best to stay upbeat and positive everyday, and that wonderful family attitude will serve them well in life. Not everyone could handle the responsibility of half a dozen children, but the Tolberts are no ordinary family. They’re extraordinary!
