The internet is in a frenzy after the news came out that teen heartthrob, Zac Efron, was playing one of the most notorious serial killers in American History. Efron is playing the infamous Ted Bundy, in the new film, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile”. One of Bundy’s survivors claimed that Zac Efron’s role is exactly the way it should be.
Kathy Kleiner Rubin, who is featured in Efron’s new movie, described the movie in an interview with TMZ as “extremely wicked, vile and shockingly evil”. Kathy, who was a 20 year-old sorority sister at Florida State University, was beaten by Bundy with a club, after he crept into her bedroom at 3.a.m. Kathy was in the room with her roommate, and they were both beaten up very badly.
The movie recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Several critics have called out this movie for over-emphasizing Bundy’s good looks and charm. Kathy said that she does not have a problem with people looking at his good looks and charm, as long as they understand the fact that they are not watching a normal person.
The mother of one of Ted Bundy’s victims, Belva Kent, also had something to say about the new film. Bundy murdered her daughter, Debra Jean Kent, when she was only 17 years old, in 1974. Belva Kent complained, and was not happy with the way the movie was being produced, since she witnessed how Bundy murdered her daughter.
Belva explained how disgusting and aggravating the situation was, but she had to ignore it and just move on. She said Bundy’s portrayal in the film can help explain what his victims actually suffered, and the fact that this could’ve happened to anyone.
Bundy met his girlfriend, Kloepfer, in Washington, in 1969. He met her at the University of Washington School of Medicine, while he was studying law. Bundy’s girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, struggled to accept the reality of her boyfriend’s horrific true nature.
Ted Bundy confessed to killing almost 30 women in seven different states, between 1974 and 1978, before he was sentenced to the death penalty. Authorities believe Bundy killed many others, which experts estimated to be around 100 victims.
Ted Bundy was executed on January 24, 1989, in Florida. The movie has no release date yet, but we can’t wait to see this extremely wicked, vile and shockingly evil movie soon!
