Pole dancing is a very intensive art form. Just ask any person who does calisthenics how tough it is for them to do a human flag, and now imagine doing that while the pole is spinning— no easy task. Yet, Jennifer Lopez was up for the challenge when she began getting fit for her role in “Hustlers.”
Despite working under the guidance of Johanna Sapakie, a choreographer and pole instructor, JLo was still left with bruises on her arms and legs from training. It was worth it in the end because she did convince us she knew what she was doing in the film.
Margot Robbie Received a Standing Ovation for “I, Tonya”
Margot Robbie went all in when she was cast as the lead in “I, Tonya.” She wanted audiences to believe she was the two-time Olympian and two-time Skate American champion, so she dove head first and began training 4 hours a day, five days a week learning how to ice skate.
This went on for five months, but after that, Margot was in triple axle shape. She convinced us that she was Tonya Harding, and it shows how dedicated she is to her craft.
Kate Bosworth Hung Ten to Get Fit for “Blue Crush”
Kate Bosworth did everything she could to get in shape for her role as a professional surfer in “Blue Crush” and literally trained as a professional surfer. She claims that they were the most intense physical experience she has ever gone through and spent up to 7 hours a day training for the role.
That included 4 hours of surfing, an hour of weight training, and an hour of running underwater with a rock. The results speak for themselves and she killed it on screen as a surfer.
Jennifer Garner was in Mint Condition for “Peppermint”
Jennifer Garner has never been known for her muscles, but that might change after you watch her in “Peppermint.” The movie follows Jennifer as Riley North who becomes a vigilante to get revenge after the cartel killed her daughter and husband.
Jennifer added MMA and boxing to her workout sessions and got some pythons as arms as result. She did a great job preparing for this role, and now we just hope we don’t run into Jenny down a dark alley at night.
Blake Lively Had to Dig Deep for “The Shallows”
Getting in shape is hard regardless of where you are in life. It is even harder when you just had a baby. Well, for Blake Lively that was the case when she had to get in shape for “The Shallows,” only a few months after welcoming her oldest daughter, James, into the world.
She put herself into gear, worked out 13 hours a day, and got into incredible shape for her role. Good on you Blake because we think we would have just searched for a new role if we were in your shoes.
