Teigen responded to all the criticism saying she may have misunderstood the general public’s awareness of the IVF process. She clarified that they didn’t choose to create a girl. They just chose a female embryo out of the ones they had.
Bumps in the Road
The couple’s plans to have a family took even longer than anticipated. Teigen and Legend tried naturally for nine long years. When nothing worked, they decided to turn to IVF but didn’t have it easy there, either. Teigen's IVF cycle failed the first time, and the couple was devastated.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend were overjoyed when their second round of IVF resulted in a successful pregnancy. Luna Simone Stephens Arrives
While waiting for baby No. 1, the happy couple appeared on an episode for FABlife, where they spoke about their journey with infertility Teigen also published a post on Instagram detailing their struggles. She said the IVF journey had not been easy, but they kept trying and hoping regardless.
On April 14, 2016, Luna Simone Stephens was born. An exhausted but elated Teigen managed a parting joke on her Instagram post. “To everyone asking, John is healing perfectly.” One thing is for sure, the photo she shared was absolutely heartwarming for everyone to see and received many likes and warm comments.
Luna’s First Lake Como Trip
After a hard fought experience with IVF and a successful pregnancy, the new family of three took a much needed vacation. In July of that same year, they made their way to Lake Como – Luna’s first trip to the place where her parents’ story began. She was three months old then.
The couple took Luna to their favorite spots. They also recreated moments from the music video, with Teigen captioning it “Lol, three years later” on Instagram. As for Luna? Chriss Teigen and John Legend, proud presents they were, took several shots of her living her best life, vacationing like a boss in Italy.
