Now, if you would have come across one of these selfies, you wouldn’t think there was anything wrong with them, and Dan was the same. As far as he was concerned, there was nothing wrong with them.
Was he maybe being abusive without realizing it? Did Diggy have some kind of mark or cut on his coat that made others believe he might have some disease or something? Or perhaps there was something illegal going on?
Eventually, Dan's followers didn't stay loyal only to Dan but kept on following his accounts just to keep up with what Diggy was up to. His gentle and captivating personality was reflected through the lens.
Now, most of the followers were supportive, however, there were some that weren't, and something about the selfies got them to contact the local police station. What was going on? What were they seeing that Dan was missing out?
What Was Going on?
Before Dan knew it, a complaint was made. What reason could anyone have for complaining about a guy posting selfies with his adorable dog? Was this maybe a matter of revenge from the past?
Dan couldn't believe it when he heard someone had complained about him. And he was even more shocked when he realized the reason behind all this.
Detroit Dog Shelter
In the first social media post he ever shared about his dog, Dan tagged "Detroit dog rescue". It was very important for him to give credit to the dog shelter since they were doing such a meaningful job.
They helped him find his new best friend, and he believed this would encourage other people to go out there and adopt a dog. There were so many lonely dogs that needed a home.
It Was Going Viral
With no intention, this post would lead to emotional pain, misunderstanding, and a few broken hearts. Dan's intention was to save a dog, not to almost get himself behind bars. He did have a dog to take care of, after all!
His post was going viral and reaching thousands of people. Followers began contacting him and asking about Diggy, sending emails, and asking for more photos.
