Dan was going through some very difficult days, however, some good luck was about to come his way. After the police and authorities went back and forth with the courts, Dan was finally about to be relieved.
The judge decided to dismiss the case. Diggy was allowed to remain at home with Dan and the sour and sad story had come to an end. The first thing Dan did, was, of course, updated his Facebook account.
The Law Was About to Be Bent
Was the public support enough? Was the police and the authorities about to change the local law and allow Dan to keep his beloved Dog? Not everyone was very optimistic.
People felt sympathy towards Dan, but more than that, they felt for Diggy. Diggy was a rescue dog and rescue dogs are not like others. There is always a story behind them.
A Dog to the Rescue
Rescue dogs are dogs that usually go through abuse or mistreatment, which turned them into more vulnerable pets. It takes more time than usual to get them adopted, so when one finally does find a home, it must be praised.
More than three million dogs go into shelters every single year. Only half of them end up being adopted, many are euthanized so Dan's big heart and good intentions shouldn't be taken for granted. It was a life-or-death situation.
He Is a Good Dog
He summarised this horrifying episode with a few simple words. "We get to keep our boy, He's a good boy." Nothing more was needed to express his enthusiasm and delight.
Their victory wasn't just theirs as soon after, his hometown decided to do a bit of law changing and instantly decided to soften its pitbull ownership ordinance. A true impact!
He Was Who He Said He Was
Dan went to a specialist to determine once and for all what breed was Diggy. He assured him then and there that Diggy was who he said he was — an American Bulldog.
And as for Dan, he gained much more than just keeping his dog. Remember those followers? Well, not only did they support and follow Diggy, but they also became huge fans of Dan. Musician Dan.
