Professional wrestler and arm wrestler Sarah Bäckman has won the world championship in arm wrestling no less than eight times. Looking at this picture, it’s not surprising, really. One glance at those biceps and you know this woman could grind you into dust as casually as she brushes her teeth.
She was born in Sweden and competed on “Spirit” — the Swedish version of “Gladiators.” After breaking records with so many wins to her name, she turned onto a new path in life. These days, she still pulls down some arms but also has an additional career in real estate.
Megan Anderson is the Australian MMA fighter on our list. Besides being a star in the featherweight division, she has a purple belt in Jui Jitsu. She is 6 feet tall and considered one of the tallest in her category.
Anderson found her MMA calling after two and a half years of army service, a stint as a receptionist, and finally local boxing, which introduced her to MMA and changed her life for good. She is recognized for the many tattoos that adorn her perfectly-toned arms. In recent years she has been investing her time as an interviewer, analyst, and commentator.
Avril Mathie is a half-Australian and half-swiss professional boxer. She began her athletic career back in 2012, however, didn't stick just to sports, and in 2014 she won a Miss Swimsuit competition. She then went on to win numerous other pageants and accolades in the field, which, according to her website, made her Australia's most successful pageant model ever.
These days she lives in Miami, where she trains intensely. Not surprisingly, she is a professional model too and a great inspiration for others. Her Instagram account boasts nearly 300,000 followers who get to enjoy her work both as a model and an athlete.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and the niece doesn't fall far from her uncle. Cheyanne Woods, the niece of golfing legend Tiger Woods, has the golf ball running down her veins too. Her grandfather, Earl Woods, was her first coach.
Woods is the sixth black American female to play in the LPGA tour, and she had said that she feels the tournament must become more accessible as no black woman has ever won it. She is the proud mother of three sons who are still a little too young to compete, so we will keep our eyes peeled to see if the future holds any golfing for them.
Sue is a retired basketball player who played for the Seattle Storm WNBA team. Megan Rapinoe is a world-famous soccer player on the US women’s national team and the National Women’s Soccer League. Some of you might recognize Megan’s name and face thanks to her illustrious career, and some of you might recognize her as the partner of another sports legend — Sue Bird (pictured here to her right).
Just like her partner, Megan enjoys both an active career and the perks that come with it. The soccer star is worth around $4 million but is still actively playing and accepting endorsement deals with brands like BodyArmor and Luna Bar.
