A favorite of the 1993 awards shows red carpet was “Northern Exposure” star, Janine Turner.
She turned heads wearing this fitted gown in bright red. Red lipstick and a cropped tousle of locks complete the actress’s image of elegance. She likes to wear jewels sparsely. Here she is wearing a pair of drop earrings and a dainty bracelet, the effect is quite chic.
Geena Davis - 1992
One of the most amazing Golden Globe fashion moments happened at the 49th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Geena Davis stepped out boldly in an outfit no one expected. Sheer bodysuits were not a thing back in the early ‘90s, but the talented actress made it "Vogue" and gorgeous all at once.
The black lace bodysuit was wrapped in silky seafoam green. An around-the-neck halter top and a sarong-style skirt covered the rest of her. She attended the event with a nomination for “Thelma & Louise.”
Michelle Pfeiffer - 1992
At the 49th Golden Globe Awards, Michelle Pfeiffer made a major fashion statement with her style of dress.
She wore a backless halter gown attached around the neck. A dramatic plunge line landed at the small of her back leaving the sides of her back conspicuously uncovered. In her hand, she held a black satin clutch. The revealing dress caused a bit of a stir among one of Hollywood’s then-hottest movie stars.
Helen Hunt - 1994
Helen Hunt dazzled in this barely-there lace gown at the 1994 Golden Globes. The gown is made of silver embroidery on a sheer shell. The daintiest spaghetti straps hold the “Mad About You” star in her dress.
It was a victorious night. Hunt collected the first of her three Best Actress Golden Globes for the sitcom. Needless to say, she looked amazing at the podium that evening at the Beverly Hills Hotel ballroom with her Golden Globe in hand.
Angela Bassett - 1994
At the 51 st Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, Angela Bassett stole the show. Not only did she win the Best Actress prize for her portrayal of Tina Turner in “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” but she also won big on the red carpet.
Her gown featured satin and lace, with one side of the bodice in satin and the other in lace. Around the waist, the lace and satin came together with peplum trim. This was Bassett’s breakout role, and she did the award circuit in style.
